Tribute to Elizabeth Jean Poland

This page was created as a tribute to my daughter, Elizabeth Jean Poland and a very dear friend whom I was to meet many years later.Elizabeth passed into Gods arms shortly after birth, many years ago. In 1990 the Statler Brothers performed a song, written by Jimmy Fortune, named "Elizabeth". I have often listened to this song and had fond thoughts of my lovely daughter.

Many years have passed and I have just recently had the great pleasure of meeting a fine fellow from CT., named George Wixon. George is one of those fellows that we have all met over the years, that was easy to like and just a super person. George is an accomplished Band In A Box GURU, and a pretty fine pedal steel guitar player, in his own right. I had asked George one evening while chatting online, if he was able to make a pedal steel guitar instrumental from an old Statler Brothers song. I am not sure George knew the reason I asked about this particular song, but I suspect he would have done his best, regardless of the reason. Within a week, George was emailing me backing tracks and an MP3 of the song he created using BIAB. What you hear on this page is what George has done for me, He says he is not completed yet, but never the less, it was literally, music to my old ears!! I could never thank George enough, or even put into words how I feel about what he has done for me, so I hope that this somehow expresses my appreciation. George, I know that Elizabeth is smiling down on you!! Thanks Buddy.
