Hello my name is Don Poland and I am located in South Central Pennsylvania...

I originally started this site to put some faces to the names of all the steel pickers I had been chatting with on the internet.  It has steadily grown to what you see here today. 

Many years ago (at least it feels that way), I met a fella named Ray Walker in a chat room that he had started with another fella named Boo Miller.  I was a brand new steel picker at the time and had no idea who these fine gentlemen were.  Somehow, I became involved in the administrative process of that Steel Guitar Chat Room and have become very close friends with Ray and Boo and a bunch of other folks I have met there over the years.  The chat room had been moved to other servers over the past few years to allow for upgrades and expansion and we are now proud of what we have accomplished with the NEW International Steel Guitar Conference Center™. The list of friends I have met via this site and others I administer, has grown tremendously.  I look forward to meeting a whole lot more in the years to come.
